Tosiaan siitä onki kuukausi ku viimeks tänne mitään kirjottelin, hups.. Ajantaju on jotenki ihan kadonnu ja pakko myöntää että mä arvasin et tässä käy jossain vaiheessa näin että päivittäminen jää vähän turhan harvaan :D Mutta fear not elossa oon vielä ja toimettomana en oo istunu tätä kulunutta kuukautta! Ja koska kuvat kertoo enemmän kuin tuhat sanaa nii antaa niitten puhua puolestaan :) Ja hei totesin että tälleen vähän reilun 150 päivän täälläolon kunniaksi tää blogi on nyt niinku virallisesti kaksikielinen!

It's been a month since I last wrote anything on this blog, whoops.. I've somehow totally lost my sense of time and to be honest I kind of guessed that at some point I'd get lazy and forget to update often enough :D But fear not I'm still alive and done heaps of stuff during the past month! And because pictures tell more than a thousand words (and also because I'm lazy) I'll let them mostly speak for me :) I also decided to honor my now-a-few-days-over 150 days here in NZ by starting to blog in english as well! Hooray for bilinguality!!
Hobbiton with Lea
Toka kerta Hobittilassa! Ekan kerran siis pääsin kokemaan hobitin elämää kaks vuotta sitten kun olin lomalla täällä Uudessa-Seelannissa mun äidin ja veljen kanssa. Oli jopa hienompi kokemus nyt kun mitä sillon 2012, ja opastettu kierros oli pidempi ja hintaan kuulu kans ilmaset ginger beerit missäpä muuallakaan kuin Green Dragon Innissä! Ja onneks allekirjoittaneen kamerankäsittelytaidot on kans jotenki kehittyny parin vuoden takaisesta nii tuli näpsittyy muutama hyvinkin onnistunu kuva :D
My second time in Hobbiton! The first time I was there was about two years ago when I was on a holiday here in New Zealand with my mum and brother. I have to say the second time was actually better than the first, the guided tour was longer and we even got complimentary ginger beers where else but in the Green Dragon Inn! And fortunately my camera-handling skills have also somewhat gotten better since 2012 so I managed to capture a few pretty nice photos!

Forest View High School Ball
Pääsin Natalian siivellä kylän toisen high schoolin tanssiaisiin, ja ei ollu yhtään hullummat kemut! Teemana oli Pariisi ja tyylillä kun mentiin nii me vaihtarit saatiin kyyti sinne avo-Cadillacilla ;) Ruoka oli yllättävän hyvää ja muutenki oli kaikenkaikkiaan tosi kiva ilta :)
I got to go to Forest View's ball as Natalia's date, and classy as we are we exchange students got a ride to the venue in a Cadillac ;) The food was great and overall it was a really good night!

Taking Natalia back to the airport :(
Maanantaina 7.7 lähettiin aikasin aamulla ajamaan kohti Aucklandia Natalian, Natalian hostäidin ja -veljen ja sen kahen kaverin kanssa. Perillä kävästiin Rainbow's Endissä koska Naty ei koskaan aikasemmin ollu ollu huvipuistossa :D Yövyttiin lentokenttähotellissa ja käytiin illalla kiertelemässä kauppoja. Löysin Warehousesta 40 dollarilla sellasen reilun metrin pitusen pehmohain – arvatkaa ostinko! Sillon ei käyny mielessä et miten meinaan raahaa sen kotiin mut sen on sitte sen ajan murhe :D
Seuraavana päivänä vietiin sit Naty lentokentälle ja Leaki saapu vähän myöhemmin. Olin luvannu ittelleni etten itkis ku hyvästit koittais mut joo kuinkas sitten kävikään.. Molemmista tuli mulle lyhyessä ajassa ihan äärettömän hyviä ystäviä ja ikävä on nyt jo kova :( Mut onpahan ainakin paikka missä yöpyä jos koskaan eksyy Sveitsin tai Bolivian lähistölle (ja se onkin tarkoitus!)
On monday 7th July me, Natalia, her host mum and host brother and two friends left for Auckland early in the morning. In Auckland we stopped by at Rainbow's End because Natalia had never been in an amusement park before :D After that we checked in to an airport hotel and went for a walk around some shops nearby. From the Warehouse I happened to find a huge as plushee shark toy for $40 so guess who's now a shark richer and 40 dollars poorer... The problem of how I'm going to drag it back to Finland didn't even cross my mind at the time but hey I still have like 5 months to think about it right?
The next day we took Naty to the airport where Lea arrived a bit later. I had promised myself not to cry when it would be the time to say goodbye but just guess who ended up bawling her eyes out after all (at least I wasn't the only one haha). I've become really good friends with both of them in such a short time and I miss them a lot already :( But at least if I ever stumble near Switzerland or Bolivia I'll always have a place to stay (and that's exactly what I intend to do!)

Elsa's visit to Tokoroa
Ekan lomaviikon lopulla Elsa, yks mun suomalaisista AFS-vaihtarikamuista, tuli käymään pariks päiväks tänne Tokoroaan. Kävästiin mm. juhlistaa Tonyn synttäreitä Tokoroan justiin uudistetussa leffateatterissa missä katottiin uusin Transformers, oltiin reippaita ja mentiin lenkille Cougar Parkiin (se paikka missä en enää ikinä maastopyöräile), käytiin leikkimässä turisteja Tonyn kanssa Rotoruassa Buried villagessa ja valmistettiin suomidinneri makaronilaatikkoineen ja mustikkapiirakoineen sekä katottiin Napapiirin Sankarit (mitä mun hostäiti ei oikeen tainnu hiffata). Oli ihanaa pälättää suomea pitkästä aikaa ja ylipäätään puhuu ihan kaikesta mahdollisesta sellasen henkilön kaa joka on samassa tilanteessa ja oikeesti ymmärtää. Ja vaikka oltiinki tavattu tasan kerran aikasemmin sillon marraskuun orientaatioleirillä koto-Suomessa nii tuntu et oltais tunnettu jo vuosii! Elsan blogista pystyy meiän parin päivän seikkailuista lukee vähän enemmän :)
At the end of the first week of the holidays Elsa, one of my finnish AFS friends, came to visit for a few days to Tokoroa. We went to the newly renovated Tokoroa Cinema to see the newest Transformers and to celebrate Tony's birthday, for a jog at Cougar Park (the same place where I will never mountain bike again), played tourists with Tony at the Buried Village in Rotorua, made a finnish dinner and watched a great finnish movie called Napapiirin sankarit (which my host mum didn't really seem to understand). It was so awesome to properly speak finnish after such a long time and to talk about literally everything with someone who's in the exact same situation and actually understands how you feel. And even though I'd met Elsa only once before at the orientation camp in Finland back in November it felt like we'd known eachother for years!
